Journal of Resilient Urbanism & Sustainable Design (JRUSD) is honored to welcome Professor Mark Bomberg, Research Professor at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, to its Advisory and Honorary Boards.

Professor Bomberg is an accomplished researcher in building physics and building science, with expertise in heat, air, and moisture transport; building materials and durability; energy efficiency; indoor environmental quality; and the integrated performance and retrofitting of buildings. He previously conducted research at the National Research Council of Canada and served for many years as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Building Physics.

His extensive experience in building science, energy and environmental performance, and building retrofitting will bring valuable expertise to JRUSD and further strengthen the journal’s mission to advance resilient urbanism and sustainable design.

The Journal of Resilient Urbanism & Sustainable Design (JRUSD; eISSN 3067-6029) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal publishing rigorous interdisciplinary research and scholarly contributions on resilient urbanism, sustainable urban and architectural design, spatial planning, climate adaptation, infrastructure resilience, building environmental performance, and equitable urban transformation.

Research on interior environments is considered where it directly contributes to building resilience, energy efficiency, environmental performance, occupant health and well-being, inclusive design, circular material use, or climate adaptation.
JRUSD also welcomes research on cultural heritage, historic urban environments, and biocultural landscapes where it demonstrates a clear relationship to resilience, sustainability, environmental adaptation, community well-being, or equitable transformation.
The journal encourages contributions that connect research with planning, design, engineering, policy, and professional practice, particularly studies addressing urban and rural challenges associated with climate change, environmental performance, socio-cultural transformation, and sustainable development.

Publication Information and Policies

  • JRUSD is published biannually, with two issues released each calendar year.
  • Research articles are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process.
  • The journal does not charge submission fees, Article Processing Charges, or publication fees.
  • Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal.
  • Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English and comply with the journal’s submission and ethical requirements.
  • Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author or authors and the source. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
