Research and Publication Ethics

The Journal of Resilient Urbanism and Sustainable Design (JRUSD) is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical integrity in research, authorship, peer review, and publication. All authors, reviewers, and editors must adhere to the following ethical principles:

1. Research Ethics

All research involving human participants, communities, or sensitive cultural heritage must comply with internationally recognized ethical standards.

Authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained where applicable, and that their research protocol was approved by an institutional or national ethics committee when required.

Studies involving indigenous or vulnerable communities must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect for local values and traditions.

2. Authorship Ethics

Only individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the work should be listed as authors.

All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.

Guest, honorary, or ghost authorship is strictly prohibited.

Any changes to authorship after submission require written consent from all co-authors.

3. Plagiarism and Originality

Submitted manuscripts must be original and not under review elsewhere.

All content must be free of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism or reuse of previously published material without citation.

JRUSD uses plagiarism detection tools to screen all submissions.

4. Data Integrity and Reproducibility

Authors must ensure the accuracy and transparency of data, methods, and findings.

Manipulation or fabrication of data, figures, or research results is considered a serious ethical violation.

Authors should retain raw data and be prepared to provide access upon request for verification.

5. Conflicts of Interest

All authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, financial or otherwise, that could be perceived to influence the research.

Editors and reviewers must recuse themselves in cases of conflict with the manuscript.

6. Peer Review Ethics

JRUSD uses a double-blind peer review process. Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential and provide objective, constructive feedback.

Reviewers must not use unpublished information from manuscripts for their own benefit.

7. Ethical Misconduct

Allegations of misconduct (plagiarism, data falsification, authorship disputes, etc.) will be investigated in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Proven violations may lead to retraction of the article, notification to the author's institution, and a ban on future submissions.

8. Copyright and Permissions

Authors must obtain necessary permissions for any third-party materials used (e.g., images, maps, datasets).

All accepted articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing for reuse with proper citation.
