Author Guidelines
Submission Guidelines – Journal of Resilient Urbanism and Sustainable Design (JRUSD)
The Journal of Resilient Urbanism and Sustainable Design (JRUSD) welcomes original manuscripts that strictly follow the formatting and style presented in our official template. Authors are requested to adhere to the following detailed guidelines when preparing their submissions.
1. Manuscript Format
- File type: Microsoft Word (.docx)
- Paper size: A4 (21.0 cm x 29.7 cm)
- Margins: Top 2.54 cm; Bottom 2.54 cm; Left 1.9 cm; Right 1.9 cm
- Font: Palatino Linotype
- Line spacing: Multiple (0.95)
- Font sizes:
Title: 14 pt, bold, justified
Author names: 10 pt, centered
Affiliations: 9 pt, justified
Abstract and main text: 10 pt, justified
Headings: 11 pt, bold
Subheadings: 11 pt, italic
Figure and table captions: 10 pt, italic
2. Title and Author Details
- Affiliations should follow the authors' names, marked with superscript numbers and centered.
- Include the corresponding author's email address.
3. Abstract and Keywords
- Include an abstract of 150–250 words after the author information.
- Provide 3–5 keywords after the abstract, separated by semicolons.
4. Main Body Structure
Manuscripts should follow this structure:
- Introduction
- Literature Review or Theoretical Framework
- Research Methodology
- Findings and Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgments (if applicable)
- References
5. Figures and Tables
- Insert figures and tables near the relevant text.
- Number all figures and tables sequentially (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1).
- Captions must be concise and italicized (10 pt).
- All figures and tables must be cited in the text.
6. References
- Follow APA 7th Edition style for all references.
7. Length and Language
- Manuscripts should be between 8,000 and 12,000 words (excluding references).
- Submissions must be written in clear and professional English.
8. Generative AI & AI-assisted Tools Policy (Mandatory)
JRUSD permits the use of generative AI or AI-assisted tools only to improve language clarity, readability, and formatting (e.g., grammar correction, style refinement, or translation assistance). Authors must ensure that the scientific content, reasoning, interpretation, and conclusions are created and verified by the authors.
- Prohibited Uses
Authors must not use AI tools to:- Fabricate, manipulate, or misrepresent data, results, images, or references;
- Generate citations or bibliographic entries that were not genuinely consulted;
- Produce substantial portions of the scholarly argument without author oversight and verification;
- Conceal or misrepresent authorship, contributions, or the origin of content.
- Disclosure Requirement
If AI tools were used in preparing the manuscript, authors must include an AI Use Statement in the Acknowledgments (or a dedicated short statement section, if applicable), specifying the tool(s) and the purpose of use.
AI tools cannot be listed as authors, and authors remain fully responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the manuscript.
