Journal of Resilient Urbanism & Sustainable Design (JRUSD)
is honored to announce and warmly welcome
Professor Mark Bomberg
Research Professor, Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York
as a distinguished member of its Advisory and Honorary Boards.
Professor Mark Bomberg is an accomplished researcher in building physics and building science. His work encompasses heat, air, and moisture transport; thermal insulation; building materials and durability; energy efficiency; indoor environmental quality; and the integrated performance of building systems.
Professor Bomberg conducted research at the National Research Council of Canada from 1975 to 2000 and subsequently held academic and research appointments in building science and engineering. He also served for many years as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Building Physics, contributing to the advancement and international dissemination of research in building physics.
His recent work continues to address integrated approaches to energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and the retrofitting of existing buildings. In 2025, he co-authored Retrofitting: The Energy and Environment of Buildings, which examines the relationships among building energy systems, environmental performance, and emerging approaches to building renovation.
We are honored to welcome Professor Mark Bomberg to JRUSD’s Advisory and Honorary Boards. His extensive experience in building physics, energy and environmental performance, and building retrofitting will provide valuable perspectives as the journal advances interdisciplinary scholarship in resilient urbanism and sustainable design.
